There are many peoples aiming to improve their status. Status definition is very broad. Peoples might see the more money the person has, the higher status he is. Another type of people see status differently. They say, the more authority the higher status is. Oh yeah, some peoples also see that, from single to marriage life is upgrading of the status, also from someone's husband to someone's dad/mother is a change of status.
For guy, by changing car from Proton to sport car also a status upgrade. The numbers of girl friends or wives also is kind of status to guys too, the more the higher status, because he has controlled on more peoples then. It's just like a manager, the more subordinate he has, the higher status he is, because he has the capability to take care of the "big team". Some guys compete on the number of cigarettes they smoke/day to show their status, the more he smoke, the easier he upgrades his status, from human, to angel in heaven.
For girl, some girls think her bf/husband job/car's model directly affect her status. Some is doing her best to achieve in career to get more authorities to represent her status. It could be bra size too, from A cup to B cup, that's different of status too! That's why when a girl grow to be a lady, she feels she is in different status. She felt she is more attractive than any other girls.
I think another type of status is from 40kg grow to 80kg. Then you will become very heavy in status! wow....

For ladies, hangbag is also a show of status.. For guys, I think watch is also showing status, most of the big bossess like to wear branded expensive watch . hehe i notice especially those doing sales ! :)

Ppls are pursuaing something in thier life until they die......status, money, love, family......but human never say "cukup". Those are important but never fill up our life completly, don't u agree?
sze!!!!! I agree. But look at another angle, the target that we pursuing all time is actually giving us chances to grow.
If without the desires, then peoples will stay at status quo. And satisfy with whatever is given. That's not good too.
Therefore, we have to balance our desire with our ability to cope with it. When you reach your comfort zone, means time to change again! Move on to the next level...we are not going to waste our life just to do maintenance. Improvement is the key. Life is just like games, remember Mario? when you finish 1st level, you will go to 2nd level. When you finish 2nd level, you go to 3rd level...until you have no time to go further.
Yeah nowadays people tend to upgrade their status of life by changing alot of different things. My brother is the type of that person. He always looking something to change and he wants to achieve something in life. He is a single bachelor who has a good income. Somehow he doesn't think that is enough to his life. He wants to do more and achieve higer and better. He started to go to japanese course, dancing course, singing course and paid a model agency to take his photo and promote him for commercial. He was telling us that he wants to involve in entertainment industry. But last couple day he started calling me alot to tell me about the Herbal life. I guess Malaysia has this also. He joined in as member, attending conferences and try to convince me to go with him as well and listen to those products which he thinks it is good. very good indeed. He told me within a day he got 3 customers already. This little achievement inspire him to go bigger and today he just finished another conference and he called me to say that he might quit the job and concentrate of doing this herbal life business. Status, to some point it is easy and it takes just a second to achieve better status. But to some point, it has to take awhile to achieve, you got to have patient. My bro's status always change which makes him never achieve one after his effort.
