Yesterday my best friend, GK, called me up, telling me how frustrated he was with some of the Malaysians. They can be so narrow minded + black hearted. Let me tell you what happenned...

Company A was one of the Big Four audit firm. GK was in this audit firm located at the JB office. Some complicated office politics has made GK decided to resign and join the the same company at Singapore. His dream finally came true! He was hired.

Just recently, a HR manager from the JB office has expressed dissatisfaction over some of the employees who resigned and joined the Singapore office. He had filed a complained at the head office in KL. Coincidentally, GK's ex-colleagues (two of them) have just resigned from the JB office and wanted to join the Singapore office.

Usually it's not difficult for them to join the Singapore office as they are from the same audit firm as with other staffs from other offices who had applied for the job before. Weird thing was, they never got called up for the interview. So they called the Singapore office for their application status. They were told not to wait anymore.

GK speculated that the KL office must have warned the Singapore office.

Well, congrats to the HR manager who had filed the complaint. Now he has succeeded. What he did has cause two individuals to lose good job prospect. Imagine if they need a better job in order to fulfill some life commitments: new family, new baby, new property etc. Now they are struck with a surprise and not knowing what to do!

Has he ever thought of what he can do to improve his company office culture to retain the best human resources? I'm so glad that GK has left the company before the HR manager filed that complaint. Otherwise, he will be one of the poor guys!

I would like to personally "compliment" this HR manager for having such a narrow mind and the blackest heart, and wish that what he has done indirectly on these two individuals will come back to him soon. Karma.
